把我的胡子长上

一个卖笤帚的人走进一家理发店去刮胡子。理发师买了一把笤帚，刮完胡子后，他问这把笤帚的价格。

“两便士，”卖笤帚的人说。

“不行，”理发师说：“我只给你一便士，如果你觉得不够，你可以把笤帚收回去。”

卖笤帚的人收回了笤帚，问刮胡子需要付多少钱。

“一便士，”理发师说。

“我只给你半便士，如果不够，你可以把我的胡子长上，”

咸水

一位推销员得走许多路，他常常觉得脚疼。医生告诉他咸水对脚最好，因此，推销员决定那年去海边度假。因为海边的旅馆都很昂贵，他走进了远离海滩的一家小旅店。

那天早上，他拿了一只水桶，走到一位救生员身边，问是否可以取一桶水。救生员看上去很惊讶，但说：“可以，只是你必须付费二十五美分。”

推销员给了救生员二十五美分，装满水桶，回到旅馆，把脚伸进水里。

吃完午餐，推销员又来到海滩，这时退潮了，海平面低了很多。他想；“那个人的生意真好，他这今天上午一定卖掉了几千桶水。”

A man who sold brooms went into a barber's shop to get shaved. The barber brought one of his brooms. After he had shaved him, he asked for the price of the brooms.

"Two pence," said the man.

"No, no,"said the barber. "I will give you a penny, and if you don't think that is enough, you may take your broom back!"

The man took it and asked what he had to pay his shave.

"A penny," said the barber.

"I will give you a half penny, and if that is not enough, you may put my beard on again."

A traveling salesman had to walk so much that his feet often hurt. His doctor told him that salt water was the best thing for them, so the salesman decided to go to the sea for his vacation that year. Since all of the hotels near the sea were expensive, he went to a small hotel far away from the beach.

In the morning he went down to the calm sea with a bucket, went over to the lifeguard and asked whether he would be allowed to take a bucket of salt water. The lifeguard seemed very surprised but said, "Yes, although you'll have to pay twenty-five cents for it."

The salesman gave the lifeguard twenty-five cents, filled his bucket, took it to his hotel and put his feet in the water.

After lunch, hecame down to the beach again. The tide had gone out now, so the sea was much lower. The salesman thought, "That man has a very good business. He must have sold thousands of buckets since this morning."
