怎样简化自己的生活

        少即是多。因此,我要说:把你的东西减半而不是加倍;清除而不是堆积废弃物;放松而不是加压;减速而不是加速。把这些原则有意识地应用于自己的日常生活。你会发现自己正通向简化之途。
一. 分开行动
        当你专注一项任务时,就会发现自己有意想不到的力量。设想一下:有集市上,你要把两头很重的猪送到百码以后的地方。如果你总是不停地抓了这头抓那头,你会永无休止,因为总会有一头挣脱逃掉。但如果你把一头先绑在一个地方,抓起另外一头,全力以赴,冲向终点,稍停片刻,跑步回来,抓取另外一头,意志坚定,冲向终点,那么你肯定会成功。
二. 坚决说“不”以缓解压力
        所有工作中的压力都在增加。在现代的核心家庭,以前由各位亲人共同承担的期望,现在集中到了配偶一个人身上。
如果你感觉每天二十四小时还做不完想做的事情,那么这不是因为一天的时间太短,而是因为你要做的事情太多。一个简单的事实是,超负荷的人常常忘事儿。解决办法也同样简单。无论在私人生活中还是在工作中,都要拒绝接受太多的工作任务。
三. 允许自己软弱
        “我能承受压力”在工作中被看作积极表现。能承受压力的人会被给予越来越多的压力去应付,直到有一天他倒下。
留心看一些表明你压力太大,已力不从心的蛛丝马迹。这些信号来自于生活的方方面面。比如,你生病了,你的工作效率下降了。
如果你出现了任何一个症状,都要调整你的生活目标,降低你所承受的压力。只需非常简单地说:“我做不到。”
四. 不要期待事事完美
        “如果我再苗条点,漂亮点,富有点,聪明点,就会更加幸福。”这是使许多人生病,沮丧,不开心的梦想。生活中有瑕疵,缺陷,晦气和烦恼。只有那些承认这一事实的人,才能过上真正充实的生活。当然,在有些事中,犯错是危险的。比如开车,过马路。但生活并不全是这些东西。生活中还有许多空间,可以容纳大大小小的错误。
五. 偶尔逃避一下
        成功人士都有自己单独工作的地方。找到这个能提高你创造力的地方。对于我来说,这个地方是在火车上。当我得知这一点后,我会一连四个小时坐在火车上旅行,不接电话,也不会有人敲门。我发现自己思维活跃,可以读和写复杂的文章。当然在火车上工作也有麻烦,坐你对面的人可能说个不停,坐火车也可能引发疲劳,有些人坐上几英里就睡着了。

Less is more. Thisis why we say: reduce things by half instead of doubling them, get rid of junk instead of piling it up, relax instead of stressing, slow down instead of speeding up. Apply this principles in your everyday life in a conscious way.You will then find yourself  on your journey to simplification.
Separate youractions
When you concentrate on one task, you find you have energy that you didn’t know you had.Just imagine: you are at a fair and you have to carry two heavy pigs over 100yards. If you keep grabbing one and then the other, it will take forever,because one of them will keeping slipping out from under your arm and running off. But if you tie one pig in a place, pick up the other, gather all your strength and make a dash for the final line, pause for a moment, run back and get the other one, and with great determination, carry the second pig to the final line, then you can be sure of success.
Relieve pressureby firmly saying “no”
The pressure at work is on the increase in all occupations. In the modern nuclear family, th eexpectations that formerly would have been shared among all the relatives arenow concentrated on the individual partner.
If you have the feeling that 24 hours per day are not enough for all the things you want to do,then it’s not because the day has too few hours, but because you have too many activities. A simple fact that overloaded people often tend to forget. The solution is equally simple. Refuse to accept so many work assignments in yourprivate life or your working life.
Allow yourself tobe weak
“I can handle stress” is regarded as a positive statement in the world of work. People who can handle stress are given more and more to cope with---until one day they break.
Pay carefulattention to the signs that tell you that you are under more stress than youcan cope with. These signals came from various areas of life. You became ill,or your work deficiency decreases.
If you have any ofthese symptoms, change your life goals and decrease your tolerance of your stress. Say quite simply, “I can’t manage that.”
Stop expecting everything to be perfect
“If only I were slimmer, mere beautiful, richer, more clever, then I would be happier.” This is a dream that makes a lot of people ill, depressed and unhappy. Life has its flaws, defects, comets and edges. Only those who accept these reality can leada really full life.
Of course thereare activities in which errors are dangerous: driving a car, crossing the road.But life doesn’t consist entirely of these things. In among them there is a lotof room for small and large mistakes.
Escape now and then
Successful people will have their own places where they can withdraw in order to work. Find out which places improve your creativity. For me it’s the train. When I know that,I’m going to be travelling for four hours without phone calls and people knocking on my door. I find my mind is free and I can read and write complex articles. There can be problems working on the train, of course, if the person sitting opposite you keeps talking away, or if train trips make you tired (some people fall asleep after a few miles).
