灰姑娘的水晶鞋 荷叶/译 “你好，约翰。”玛丽朝我跑过来，脸上挂着少有的灿烂的微笑。“今晚，我有个舞蹈表演，希望你能来。这有张票，别忘了！”她匆匆走开，迅速消失在人群里。 “什么？什么表演？舞蹈表演？可能吗？”我问自己。玛丽不是那种人，她相貌平平，我从没见她化过妆，穿过漂亮的衣服，况且，她总是戴着大大的黑框眼镜，因为她根本不知道怎样打扮自己。这是多么可怕的一件事，尤其对于她这样一个长相平常的女孩！ “我应该去，我一定去，这是个奇迹！”我想。 我拿着这张票到了大礼堂，找到自己的座位。她的节目是第七个。我知道自己要有一段难熬的等待了，因为我没有艺术细胞，但她的表演无论要等多长时间，都值得一看。时间过得很慢，我强打精神，努力不让自己睡着。 “让我们欢迎下一个节目——精彩的拉丁舞。”掌声立刻响彻全场。 我把眼睛睁得大大的，生怕漏掉什么。身着金光闪闪舞裙的玛丽出现在辉煌的舞台上。她的长裙与绚丽的灯光非常协调。此情此景犹如一条美人鱼出现在波光粼粼的阳光下。我可以感觉到大厅里所有观众的目光都集中到她身上，我很难把自己的目光从她身上移开。她太美了，身材苗条，长长的金发披在秀美的耳后，正带着迷人的微笑翩翩起舞，她完全沉浸在拉丁乐曲中。此时此刻，她像一只美丽的蝴蝶在华丽的舞台上起舞……我不敢相信自己的眼睛。 表演结束，我在门口等她。 “嗨！”她站在我面前，手里提着手袋和一双水晶高跟鞋，仍然穿着过去的衣服，但化过妆的痕迹依稀可辨。 “感觉怎么样？”她脸上没有一丝疲劳的表情。 “好极了！”我答道。 “哈哈，我就知道会是这样。”她掩饰不住激动，笑得像个孩子。 “需要我帮忙吗？” “谢谢你！”她把她那双在星空下闪烁的水晶鞋递给我，此时，我意识到：每个女孩都像灰姑娘一样，有一双特殊的水晶鞋。 附：原文 "Hi!John." Mary ran towards me with a rare bright smile on her face, saying,"I'm gonna have a dance performance tonight. I hope you'll come. Here isthe ticket. Don't forget!" She left in a hurry, disappearing in the throng of people quickly. "What?!What performance? Dance? Is that credible?" I asked myself. Mary was notsuch kind of girl. She was a quite ordinary one. I had never seen her making upor wearing attractive clothes, moreover, she always wore her big black-frameglasses, for she did not know how to dress up indeed. What a terrible thing,especially for a plain girl! "Ishould go to, I must go to. That's a miracle!" I thought. Iarrived at the hall with the ticket, and found my seat. Her performance was theseventh one. I knew I would suffer from a hard time before her turn, for I hadno sense of art, but her performance was worth of watching, no matter how longI would wait for. Timewent slowly, I struggled with myself not to fall asleep. "Let'swelcome the next exciting dance — Latin!" Applause filled the hall atonce. Iopened my eyes as large as possible, fearing to lose anything. Wearing a goldenand shining skirt, Mary appeared on the glorious stage. Her dress went wellwith the brilliant lights. Such scene seemed to be a mermaiden showing up underthe glittering sunshine, meanwhile, I could feel all the audience in the hallfocused their eyes on her and it was also hard for me to remove my sights fromher. She was so beautiful: her stature was slim; her long golden hair lay backin curls over her delicate ears. Dancing with a charming smile, she was fullyabsorbed in the Latin music. At this moment, she looked like a pretty butterflyflying on the splendid stage… I could hardly believe my eyes. Afterall the performance ended, I waited for her at the gate. "Hi!"She stood in front of me with a bag and her crystal high-heeled shoes in herhands, and dressed as she used to be, but the making-up still could be seen. "Howdo you feel?" There was not a little bit tired expression appeared on herface. "Fantastic!"I answered. "Ha,ha. I knew it would be." She could not conceal her excitement, laughinglike a child. "MayI lend a hand?" "Thankyou!" She handed her crystal shoes to me which were shining in thewonderful starry night ;at the mean time, I realized that every girl has a pair of special shoes whichare like the crystal shoes of Cinderella .
