树的四季

从前，一家有四个儿子，父亲想让儿子学会不能光从表面判断事物，于是派他们到很远的地方去看一棵梨树。
老大是冬季去的，老二在春季，老三在夏季，老四在秋季。当他们都回来后，父亲把他们召集在一起，让他们描述一下自己眼中所见。
老大说：这棵树枝弯，貌丑，弱不禁风。老二说：才不是呢，它绿芽绽放，生机无限。老三说：它满树鲜花，清香四溢，美不可收。老四谁也不同意，他说：成熟的梨子压弯了树枝，这棵树果实累累，生命饱满。
接下来父亲说儿子们说得都对，但他们所见的只是梨树生命中的一个季节。他告诉儿子：判断一棵树一个人，不能仅凭一季一时，来自一个生命的喜、乐、爱这些本质的东西，只有过完四季直至生命终结，才能盖棺定论。
如果你在冬季放弃，就会失去春之希望，夏之美丽，秋之收获。因此，不要让一个季节的痛苦毁掉其它三季的快乐。

There was a man. He had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things to go and look at a pear tree that was far away.
The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring the third in summer, the youngest son in fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent and weak. The second son said no-it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son said it was laden with blossoms and they smelt so sweet and looked so beautiful. The last son disagreed with all of them, he said it was ripe and droop with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then said to his sons that they were all right, because they each had seen but only one season in the tree's life. He told them that they cannot judge a tree or a person by only one season, and that the essence of who they are--the pleasure, the joy and love that come from that life --can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up . If you give up when it is winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, the fulfillment of your fall .don' let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. |
